HORSESHOE BAY
The History of Horseshoe Bay began in 1969, when Norman and his wife Dorothy were looking to build a home on Lake LBJ. They were taken to a property named “Coke Ranch” by the locals, since its previous owners were Coca-Cola bottlers in Fort Worth. The couple quickly saw potential, and started developing a residential area and later on some of the best golf courses in Texas. Nestled in the Hill Country along the LBJ Lake, the town has around 2,500 residents and has become the perfect luxurious resort getaway in a calm atmosphere.
There are many things to do in Horse Shoe Bay while you are relaxing away from the city. For the foodies, the Lake offers plenty of fine dining options, like The Lantana Restaurant, boasting the best American-Southwestern in town. If you prefer, you can pick up fresh produce, seafood, prepared foods and baked goods at the Bayside Fresh Market.
And if you golf, we have good news. Horseshoe Bay has been named one of the best golf destinations in the country. Its three courses are the main reason people visit the area. What makes the courses special is their proximity to each other and the incredible views that golfers can admire in between rounds.
The real estate in the Bay is a splendid scene. The resort neighborhood works closely with custom home builders from Austin to develop the area surrounding the Lake and further inland. Having a place in Horseshoe Bay means you have the dream getaway, less than 45 miles away from Austin.
